What the database covers

The database brings together information on marine research projects funded in Ireland from 2017 onwards.

The database includes:

nationally funded projects from members of the Marine Research Funders’ Forum
international projects with Irish participation, including Horizon Europe and Interreg programmes
projects of all sizes, from short studies to multi-year research projects

For EU-funded projects, we show only the funding received by partners in the Republic of Ireland.

Funding organisations represented

We include project data from key public funders to provide a complete view of marine research investment. The linked funding organisations are listed under References.

For projects supported by co-financing from European Structural and Investment Funds, the appropriate national funder is displayed as the lead funder.
