Attend events and training opportunities that support research sharing and collaboration.
Marine research communication
Promote marine research to increase the visibility and impact of work based in Ireland.
2026 submission deadlines
Applications will be accepted throughout 2026 at the following deadlines:
- 26 February 2026
- 30 April 2026
- 25 June 2026
- 27 August 2026
- 29 October 2026, for events taking place up to 28 February 2027
How to apply
Applications must be submitted through the Marine Institute's Research Information Management System (RIMS). Application forms and programme guidance are available through the online system.
- review the applicant guidelines and FAQ document
- check that your activity fits an eligible award category
- check funding limits and requirements
- ensure your application is complete
- submit your application at least one month before your event or activity
Important information
Before submitting an application, please note that:
- applicants can receive a maximum of two awards in a calendar year
- networking awards are payable to organisations only
- applications are capped at three applications per organisation for a single event
- applications must be submitted at least one month before the event
- activities can take place up to 28 February 2027
